CAN PNEUMONIA BE PREVENTED? 
Yes! 

Here are ways you can prevent pneumonia:


☐ Get the flu shot
Get a flu shot every year to prevent seasonal influenza.
The flu is a common cause of  pneumonia, so preventing the flu is a good way to prevent pneumonia.

☐ Stay active
Activities such as walking, hiking, exercising at the gym, and playing sports keep your immune system strong.

☐ Wash your hands regularly


☐ Keeping good hygiene  

☐ Quit smoking

☐ Eat healthy foods
Protein rich foods such as nuts,  beans, seeds, chicken, and fish like salmon strengthen your immune system.

☐ Always cover your mouth if someone near you sneezes
​

☐ Always cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze to prevent the spread of germs

​
Pneumonia is one of the most common lung diseases that can be prevented by following these simple guidelines. If you have any of the symptoms of pneumonia, please see a doctor immediately.
